Royal Mail has released its “British Auto Legends” special stamps, celebrating the best in British automaking.

The main six-stamp set features the “Thoroughbreds” and is complemented by a four-stamp mini sheet that celebrates the iconic “Workhorses.” The six Thoroughbreds showcased in the stamp collection are the Jaguar E-Type, Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, Aston Martin DB5, MG MGB, Morgan 8 Plus and the Lotus Esprit.

As for the four-stamp mini sheet, it will feature the Morris Minor Van, Austin FX4 black cab, Ford Anglia 150E, and the Land Rover Defender 110.

This year, British automakers Rolls-Royce and Aston Martin are both celebrating milestones with Rolls-Royce seeing the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sir Henry Royce while Aston Martin is celebrating its centenary.

“This is a fantastic set of stamps that feature a collection of the very best in British motor car manufacturing in the 1960s and 70s,” said Andrew Hammond, Director of Stamps and Collectibles, Royal Mail. “These cars are classic in every sense; and we are delighted to be bringing a reminder of these iconic motor cars to the nation’s doorsteps through this latest stamp issue.”
