2014 Porsche Macan Spied Lapping the 'Ring
Spy photographers have captured the 2014 Porsche Macan yet again, this time as it circles the legendary Nürburgring in Germany.
In an effort to boost its sales Porsche is aggressively expanding into numerous segments of the market. The 2014 Macan will serve the sport-luxury brand as an entry-level crossover, well, as entry-level as a Porsche can get.
Pulling a Paul Reubens the vehicle is almost fully exposed in these shots and it looks quite like its big brother, the Cayenne, but at about 4/5 scale. There is a tiny bit of camouflage on this Macan, covering the aft-most side glass. We wonder what’s worth hiding back there.

This scrappy little crossover is widely expected to feature a variety of Volkswagen-group powertrains. The base engine will likely be some form of VW’s 2.0-liter turbo-four hybridized with an electric motor and battery pack, probably very similar to what’s in the Audi Q5. The range-topping engine could be a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 with somewhere in the neighborhood of 370 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque.
All of this may be complete speculation at this point, but speculating even further, there will be some official news in the not-too-distant future. All is expected to be revealed about the new Porsche Macan at the Los Angeles Auto Show in late November. Stay tuned for more.
