In 2015 Ford will shift gears on its iconic Mustang, with some of that change being revealed today in leaked photos of the car’s new front end.

Maintaining some of the current model’s classic lines, the overall look is expected to significantly modernize the pony car and move away from its current retro-inspired design. The new front end look offers a wider grille and smaller headlights, though bigger changes are expected from the rest of the design.

And changes won’t be limited to just the styling department, with the new Mustang expected to ride on an all-new architecture that will ditch the old solid rear axle in favor of a true independent rear suspension.

The modernization won’t end there either, with a turbocharged engine expected under the hood. What isn’t yet clear is if Ford intends to offer its twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost motor, or if rumors of a new 2.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder to replace the current V6 will prove true.
