2014 Subaru Impreza and XV Crosstrek Net IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus Ratings
The IIHS has released the results from its latest round of crash tests involving the 2014 Subaru Impreza and XV Crosstrek, which both earned Top Safety Pick Plus ratings.
This should come as no surprise, as Subaru vehicles have been scoring extremely high on the IIHS small overlap crash test. The Impreza and XV Crosstrek now joins the ranks of the Subaru Legacy, Outback, and Forester as Subaru vehicles with top scores in the IIHS crash tests.
The recently introduced small overlap crash test has been giving some automakers headaches lately and is causing concern as consumer watchdog publications like Consumer Reports is no longer recommending vehicles based on poor crash test results. The popular Toyota Camry and RAV4 are just two vehicles that fared poorly in the test and are being chastised for their underwhelming occupant safety.
However, when it comes to Subaru, it seems like safety is a top concern as many of the cars from the brand excel in terms of occupant space and safety in the event of a crash. Below is a video of the IIHS’ crash test.
