Rumored earlier this year, the Mercedes-Benz GLC will be unveiled in 2016 as a 2017 model if all goes as planned.

The Mercedes GLC will be a GLK-based coupe underpinned by the new C-Class platform. Given how popular the compact crossover market has become, it is likely that the German automaker is moving forward with the project, especially with the BMW X4 currently in the works.

As for powertrains, expect the GLC to feature four- and six-cylinder options while a hybrid variant is under consideration. Mated to the engines will be a nine-speed automatic transmission, with the GLC positioned to be above the GLK in the automaker’s lineup.
