2015 Subaru WRX STI Confirmed for Detroit Debut

Subaru has announced that the 2015 WRX STI will make its public debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

The Japanese automaker didn’t even bother with any teasers with its announcement, just that it promises to unveil their “iconic performance flagship model” in Detroit. Though nothing is confirmed, expect the WRX STI to feature more aggressive styling than the standard WRX, which made its debut at the LA Auto Show last year.

It will undoubtedly be wider in stance and feature a signature rear spoiler. Expect plenty of upgrades to the suspension, brakes and chassis to improve the WRX STI’s handling. With the standard WRX pushing 268 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque from its 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, don’t be surprised when the STI debuts with over 300 hp.
