2014 Kia Sportage Recalled for Incorrect Tire Pressure Label
South Korean auto maker Kia is calling back 11,961 of its Sportage crossovers from the 2014 model year.
Tire pressure labels that give incorrect information could lead drivers to inflate their tires between one and two psi below the correct pressure. The mistake hasn’t led to any reported injures or deaths, but the label keeps the cars from conforming to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard so Kia will call nearly 12,000 units back for replacement labels and a sticker for the owners manual with correct information.
The campaign will begin sometime this month and will be carried out through the company’s dealer network free of charge to owners.
