2014 Audi S3 Cabriolet Revealed Before Geneva Debut
The Audi S3 has ditched its roof in favor of a soft top, and Audi has now divulged full details on the S3 Cabriolet.
Motivation comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder engine that pumps out 300 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque, enough to push the S3 convertible from 0 to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited at 155 mph, while the car weighs in at 3,571 pounds. A six-speed dual clutch transmission gets the power to all four wheels thanks to Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive setup.
Fuel economy is rated at 33 mpg combined based on the European Test Cycle which should translate to between 25 and 30 mpg in the US. Fuel usage is helped by some of the cars systems including a stop/start setup along with an efficiency mode which tailors the drive train to favor good fuel economy.
The S3 convertible gets a single-frame grille surrounded by chrome, while the air intakes are framed and filled with honeycomb inserts. S3 badges adorn the front and rear of the car, while 12 different exterior colors are available.

On the inside, the car gets a full black theme while the dashboard and gauges are finished in matt brushed aluminum. There is a three-dimesional S3 badge included in the tachometer along with a boost gauge to monitor the turbocharger. All other surfaces are wrapped in leather, while S3 emblems are embroidered into the seats and included on the door sills.
Delivery of the S3 Cabriolet will commence this summer in Germany, where the car carries a starting price of 48,500 euros. Audi did not specify when or if the car would make it to North America.
