Now that Volvo is owned by Geely, the Swedish automaker has some big plans for its near future.
After debuting three impressive concepts this past year, it is being reported that the Volvo Concept Estate will result in a new V90 wagon model that will replace the current V70. Moving upmarket, the V90 will be more luxurious, and while it’ll resemble the Concept Estate, it will likely be more practical in terms of design.
Expect a modern interior with advanced powertrains under the hood. Those will likely consist of four-cylinder engines for base models, while the top-end models will receive a hybrid variant.
The Volvo Coupe concept that debuted at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show will become a new C90 model while a new S90 sedan will replace the current S80. So don’t be surprised if all three recent Volvo concepts head to production as the brand looks to change its direction and present itself as a more luxurious automaker in the marketplace.
