More details on the upcoming next-generation Audi A4 have leaked.

A new report suggests that the 2015 Audi A4 will benefit from the brand’s new 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that will feature active cylinder management, allowing it to operate on two cylinders while under a light or moderate load. The same powerplant was previewed earlier this year in the Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion concept sporting 150 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. Expect impressive fuel economy with the engine under the hood of the 2015 Audi A4.

In addition, it is believed that a plug-in hybrid variant will join the A4’s lineup, likely to compete against the BMW 3 Series hybrid and the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class plug-in hybrid. In the Audi A4 plug-in hybrid, expect a gasoline 2.0-liter TFSI engine paired to an electric motor to give it an electric-only range of 31 miles.

As reported earlier, expect the A4 to have some evolutionary styling tweaks with optional full LED headlights and wider brake lights. Inside, Audi will be heading a head-up display, a larger infotainment touchscreen and a digital display built into the rearview mirror.
