2015 Hyundai Genesis Gets Supercharged for SEMA

Hyundai has previewed another creation heading to the 2014 SEMA Show.

Created by Ark Performance, the custom Genesis AR550 sedan is the tuner’s sixth Hyundai vehicle build for SEMA and will be officially unveiled during the Korean automaker’s press conference on November 4 at 9:00 AM PT.

Transforming the Genesis sedan’s exterior, Ark Performance has outfitted the car with its own body kit comprising of wider fenders, wide front and rear bumpers with carbon fiber, a rear trunk decklid, new headlights and exterior welcome lighting. Suspension modifications are plentiful with a collection of Ark Performance goods including a front strut bar, front and rear sway bars, Airrex air suspension and control arms.

Braking performance will be enhanced with a Brembo big brake kit while the Ark wheels will be paired with Nitto NT05 tires. All those aesthetic changes will be supported by additional performance thanks to a Rotrex supercharger that will add 130 hp to the 5.0-liter V8 engine. Helping the engine breathe will be an intake system, downpipes, test pipe and exhaust system all from Ark while an upgraded engine management and driveshaft will ensure the Genesis sedan drives as smoothly as possible. Inside, expect custom Katzkin diamond-stitched seats and panels.

Expect more news on the Hyundai AR550 Genesis sedan to come as we get closer to the 2014 SEMA Show.

“The AR550 concept focuses on refined performance that integrates directly with Hyundai’s ‘Design to Empower’ vision for the Genesis Sedan,” said Lerry Liu, Marketing Director, ARK Performance, Inc. “This year we are focused on two core elements all under the new line of ARK Racing (AR) concepts for Hyundai’s. First, we focused on the power, handling, and most importantly the sound of the Hyundai power plant. Second, we integrated our high-performance racing technology to introduce a very unique and bold Hyundai vehicle.”
