US Gas Prices Continue to Fall

U.S. car owners could enjoy gas prices not seen since 2010.

Retail gas prices throughout the U.S. have continued to drop and analysts believe it could get lower before the end of the year. A survey by Trilby Lundberg has found that the price for a regular gallon of gasoline has dropped $0.09 in the last two weeks and prices are down $0.34 since the beginning of summer. Tracking website GasBuddy believes prices will fall another $0.20 at the pump, resulting in prices consumers haven’t seen since 2010.

Prices have fallen to a national average of $3.37 per gallon of regular unleaded gas and Mississippi has the lowest price at $3.069 per gallon. Hawaii residents on the other hand are paying a staggering $4.241 per gallon while Oregon had the highest gas price within the continental U.S. at $3.752.

    It must have something to do with ethanol because my gasoline (i only buy ethanol free) is still holding steady at $4.03 at one station and $3.99 at the other. But I haven't been out to the marina lately to check there.

    I spent a month driving up and down the west coast of your beautiful country last October. I was amazed at the low price of your fuel, down to about $2.95 per gallon in places. Here in Australia it is currently about $6.00AUD per US gallon. In Australia most utilities and all but the smallest SUVs are diesel.
