C-Class Convertible Shakes its Rump for the Camera

C-Class Convertible Shakes its Rump for the Camera’s spy photographers have managed to snap a few more pictures of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class Convertible.

Regrettably they only managed to get a coupe shots of this open-air model from the rear but we can glean a few details about it. The car’s trunk was not covered in distracting black-and-white camouflage so we can actually see what’s going on back there.

Like other Mercedes models there’s a chrome strip that runs across the deck-lid. Not surprisingly the car’s rump has more than a passing resemblance to the new C-Class sedan’s booty. Shocking, we know.

This drop-top also appears to have a soft roof instead of a folding metal one. In the spy photos you can see what appear to be crossbows … possibly, maybe.

As for propulsion, we expect this car to borrow heavily from its sedan counterpart. This means it should offer at least a pair of turbocharged gasoline engines. The base unit is expected to be a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. Stepping up, drivers will probably be able to opt for a 3.0-liter V6 with 329 hp and 354 units of twist.

The new C-Class convertible should debut next year as a 2016 model.
