Ford Recalls 205K CUVs Over Fire Risk

Ford has issued a new recall today covering roughly 205,000 CUVs over issues with possible corrosion under certain reinforcement brackets.

The campaign affects 2007 and 2008 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX vehicles, but only those that reside in the corrosion States, or States that use salt on the roads during winter time. The reinforcement brackets for the fuel tank can erode over time, possibly leading to a fuel leak.

Ford is unaware of any fires as a result of the issue. Dealers will inspect each vehicle and replace the entire fuel tank if necessary.
