The number of deaths linked to GM‘s ignition-switch recall continues to rise.
The official death toll is now at 29 and a total of 1,517 claims have been filed with the GM Compensation Fund program. The total number of claims that have been deemed eligible for compensation now totals 29 deaths and 27 injuries with the overall number of claims received up 11 percent from 1,371 last week.

Death claims submitted to the program now total 184 and the program will continue to receive claims until December 31. The program has now made a total of 31 offers with 20 families accepting those offers.
