Dodge Challenger Hellcat Orders Top 5,000

Chrysler’s October sales are in and the Auburn Hills, Michigan-based automaker posted its 55th-consecutive month of year-over-year gains, but diving into the numbers reveals something interesting.

Deliveries of the Dodge Challenger were up 27 percent last month hitting 4,140. But even more intriguing than this, dealers have logged more than 5,000 orders for the SRT Hellcat model.

This fire-breathing muscle car is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 that delivers 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. That’s more oomph than many of the world’s finest supercars have, including the Lamborghini Aventador. In fact it’s probably more power than required to send Apollo 11 to the moon.

And with more than 5,000 orders in the books it’s clear this car’s bonkers capability is pretty appealing to speed-obsessed enthusiasts.
