Mercedes S-Class Coupe Wins 2015 AutoGuide.com Reader's Choice Luxury Car of the Year Award
Mercedes’ new S-Class Coupe offers an alluring mixture of style and luxury that helped it win the 2015 AutoGuide.com Reader’s Choice Luxury Car of the Year Award.
The last time Mercedes offered a coupe version of its flagship car, it was called the CL-Class. Rather than re-using that nameplate, the company is selling its large two-door luxury car as the S-Class Coupe. As you probably know, it uses a 4.7-liter V8 that produces 449 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Give the throttle a generous push and you’ll hear a slightly muffled roar as the car presses on its rear wheels and surges forward with power unbecoming of such a vehicle its size.
With seven different vehicle categories voted for in this year’s Reader’s Choice Awards, Ford took home two wins including the Truck of the Year for the F-150 and the Car of the Year for the Mustang. Winners in the remaining Reader’s Choice categories include the Jaguar F-Type Coupe for Sports Car of the Year, the Cadillac Escalade for Luxury Utility Vehicle of the Year, the Subaru Outback for the Utility Vehicle of the Year and the BMW i8 for the Green Car of the Year.
