Acura released images of its upcoming halo car today, offering a shrouded preview of the next NSX.

The teaser images mark an announcement by the company that it will unveil its hybrid supercar at the Detroit Motor Show next month before bringing it to market for the 2016 model year. Output figures are still unannounced, but rumors suggest the V6 will displace four liters and be fitted with twin turbochargers for a total system output for about 500 hp.

Aside from a VTEC V6, the NSX will also use Acura’s Sport-Hybrid Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive system, integrating three electric motors. One of them will be a part of the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission while the other two will power the front wheels.

Like other recent Acura products, expect the production version to take most of its styling cues from the concept preview on display during the 2013 Detroit Motor Show.
