2016 Lincoln MKX Enters Second Generation
Lincoln’s latest crossover made its official debut at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show today featuring a new powertrain along with a conservative and handsome design.
The Lincoln MKX arrives with two engines: a 3.7-liter V6 engine carried over from the previous generation as well as a new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 that makes more than 330 horsepower and more than 370 lb-ft of torque mated to a six-speed automatic transmission in both cases. As you might have guessed, the transmission is connected to Lincoln’s signature push-button gear selector.
Lincoln also gave the MKX a number of chassis, suspension and steering upgrades including an integral link rear suspension, standard Lincoln Drive Control and adaptive power-assisted steering.

There are a number of optional driver assists systems are available in the MKX including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, a blind spot monitoring system and cross-traffic alert. Additionally, the car also includes a 360-degree camera system paired to 12 ultrasonic parking sensors to make parking easier.
Lincoln is also offering LED headlamps that adapt and widen the low-beam pattern at to 35 MPH.
The MKX’s interior is also upgraded with smart power seats that adjust to make entry and exit easier. Finally it offers a new Revel Ultima audio system with 19 speakers. You can expect to see it arriving at dealerships in the U.S. this fall, followed by a global roll out to Canada, Mexico, China and others.
