BMW's M6 Coupe Going GT3 Racing

BMW is prepping an M6 to compete in GT3-class races and it looks pretty sick.

This overpowered beast will rub fenders with supercars like the Lamborghini Huracán and McLaren 650S racer.

With a swirling black and white paint job, HUGE fenders, an aggressive front splitter and a wing that would look more appropriate on something built by Boeing, not BMW this car certainly looks the part … FAST. This specially prepared M6 is expected to go racing in the 2016 season.

As for power, it should feature a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8, the same engine found under the hoods of road-going M5s and M6s though it will be less powerful because GT3 regulations limit cars to “just” 500 ponies.

But don’t think that because this model has been chocked back a little that it can’t run. This race-ready machine should only clock in at about 1,300 kilograms, a little less than 2,900 pounds, something that will give it a very favorable power-to-weight ratio.
