MINI is following up its John Cooper Works coupe with a convertible variant.

AutoGuide.com’s spy photographers have caught the MINI John Cooper Works convertible catching a bit of frost while testing. The latest spy photos of the MINI JCW convertible show that the model is nearing its debut as the British automaker has shed quite a bit of camouflage from its prototype.

The MINI JCW coupe was first unveiled earlier this year at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show sporting a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 228 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. Expect the convertible variant to share its powerplant with similar performance specifications.
