The 2016 Honda HR-V price point puts it in a position to take over the segment starting at $19,995 including delivery.

For that price, customers get a front-wheel drive LX model with a six-speed manual transmission. That price includes a standard equipment list that includes 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, Bluetooth audio, a rear-view camera and LED tail and more. The CVT-equipped base trim costs and extra $800.

The EX trim with a CVT costs $22,845 and adds a seven-inch touchscreen, an upgraded stereo, Honda’s LaneWatch side-view camera, automatic headlights, heated front seats and a push-button ignition. It also gets heated side-view mirrors, fog lights, a second USB port, a moonroof and more.

Finally, the EX-L Navi trim adds native navigation to the touchscreen, leather seat upholstery, an automatic rear-view mirror and roof rails for $26,720. That price means Honda is undercutting the starting MSRP of the Chevrolet Trax by $1,000.

The 2016 Honda HR-V price also means that you will be able to buy a crossover from the brand for about $1,000 more than the base price of a Civic while enjoying the ground clearance, interior space and visibility that comes part and parcel with the segment.
