Ferrari is looking to enhance the experience offered in its showrooms.

The Italian automaker has teamed up with developer ZSpace to create a unique augmented reality app that will allow shoppers to not only get more information on Ferrari vehicles, but do it in a fashion that creates the ultimate showroom experience. By using the latest 3D tracking technology from Metaio, the app can detect the vehicle that the tablet device is looking at via the rear camera and use augmented reality to spill more details on the exotic.

The video below shows the app in action, showing exploding diagrams of a Ferrari’s wheels, drivetrain and more. It can even overlay wind tunnel animation right in front of the shopper. The app currently works with the 458 Speciale and Spider, the FF, the F12 Berlinetta and the California T.
