Porsche thinks its new compact crossover could become the brand’s best-selling model.

Porsche sales chief Bernhard Maier told Automotive News that the Macan could match or surpass the Cayenne in sales this year. In 2014, 16,000 Cayenne SUVs were sold in the U.S.

The Macan will have its first full year of availability in 2015 and currently only lags behind the Cayenne in sales by about 900 units through March in the U.S. In Europe, the Macan has outsold the Cayenne by about 700 units through March.

Maier also reaffirmed Porsche’s goal of moving over 200,000 units in total in 2015.
