A dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission is expected to be one of the new powertrain choices for the 2016 Chevy Cruze, a bid to increase fuel economy for the small car. A new family of small engines is also said to be joining the Cruze lineup, bringing with them a 14 to 21 percent fuel economy benefit.

The Cruze is Chevy’s best-selling car around the world and is peddled in 115 countries.

The new 2016 Chevy Cruze will be revealed on June 4, 2015 and will begin hitting dealerships in early 2016.
