2016 Nissan Sentra, Altima Getting Extensive Refresh
Nissan isn’t letting off the gas pedal with significant refreshes across its lineup.
After ushering in a new generation for its Maxima, Nissan is giving the same treatment to the 2016 Altima and Sentra. Following the new Altima’s debut later this year, the Japanese automaker is promising a refreshed Sentra, just three years after it received a full redesign.
Along with styling updates and new technology added, the company is boasting that the 2016 Nissan Sentra is “almost all new” with Fred Diaz, senior vice president for Nissan’s U.S. sales and marketing and operations saying that it is an “incredibly freshened Sentra.”

Both the current Nissan Sentra and Altima models are performing well for the company, selling 183,268 Sentras in the U.S. last year, a 42 percent increase from the year before. Last year was also the Sentra’s highest volume in 25 years, helping it reclaim market share in a crowded segment that includes the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic.
Expect the refreshed 2016 Nissan Sentra to make its debut this fall.
