The BBC continues to search for new hosts for the popular automotive television show Top Gear.

A new report from The Independent says that the BBC is considering rotating a cast of guest hosts for Top Gear that would star alongside Richard Hammond and James May. According to a top BBC source, both May and Hammond have been each offered £1 million a year to return to Top Gear.

Neither May or Hammond have made any new public remarks on whether they’ll stay or go and Clarkson hasn’t officially signed on for anything new. In the weeks after Clarkson’s firing, both May and Hammond said publicly that they did not wish to return to Top Gear if Clarkson was not involved, but neither host has officially ruled out the idea of returning.

Early last month, it was reported that the BBC was close to signing a new trio of hosts for the show with Philip Glenister, Jodie Kidd and Guy Martin being candidates to replace Clarkson, May and Hammond.
