TVR Plans Relaunch with Four New Sports Cars by 2025

The revival of TVR will kick off with a stunning new car designed in collaboration with a legend.

The British automaker has announced that its cars will head back into production with an all-new Cosworth-powered sports car, engineered in collaboration with Formula One and road car design legend, Gordon Murray. TVR plans on introducing at least four new sports cars over the next 10 years.

For its first sports car, the automaker promises that it’ll continue the tradition of classic two-seat sports cars featuring a composite ground effect aero chassis and body package using Gordon Murray Design’s innovative iStream technology. TVR fans can also expect the familiar front-engine, rear-wheel drive layout with the Cosworth-developed V8 engine mated to a manual transmission.

Production of the first car will begin in 2017 and will be marketed at a price point consistent with TVR’s past models. The company also promises that it will position itself as an all-British institution, meaning all cars will be completely produced in new UK factory premises.

“We know that a new TVR has to be better than just good – it has to be outstanding,” said Les Edgar, Chairman of TVR. “From the outset we only wanted to work with the best partners in the business, and both Gordon Murray’s and Cosworth’s track records within motor sport and high performance car design and engineering speak for themselves. GMD and Cosworth are the perfect partners for TVR and together, we will deliver a truly exceptional new car.”
