Chevrolet has released new ads taking aim at the Ford F-150’s new aluminum body.

Chevy is trying to take advantage of public perception by targeting the Ford F-150’s aluminum construction in a series of ads, hoping to convince buyers that steel is better for their pickup truck.

One of the videos in the series consists of watching a focus group discuss a superhero called “The Almighty Aluminum Man,” while another incorporates a bear and a set of aluminum and steel cages. The third video compares the costs of repairing or replacing steel parts versus aluminum parts.

For now, the ads make sense considering the Chevrolet Silverado only uses steel for its hood, but GM is said to be investigating the use of more aluminum for its second-generation Silverado model.
