2016 Honda Civic Sedan Debuting September 16

The next-generation Honda Civic will make its official debut next month.

Honda will host two events at the same time for the unveiling of the 2016 Honda Civic sedan, one in Detroit and one in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, the event will only give us a look at the design of the new 10th-generation Civic, as the Japanese automaker won’t be revealing details on the standard engine or the optional 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder VTEC engine. That means we won’t hear fuel economy figures, horsepower and torque numbers next month.

Those wanting to see how the coupe and hatchback models look will have to sit tight for a few more months, as Honda won’t reveal those models until a later date. But the debut of the 2016 Honda Civic sedan should give us a good idea on how the coupe and hatchback variants will look.

Expect details on how the engines will perform in the sedan to be revealed in October, ahead of the car arriving dealerships this fall. Recent spy photos of the 2016 Honda Civic showed LED exterior lights, heated front and rear leather seats as well as the company’s LaneWatch and Sensing safety features.
