The next-generation 2017 Hyundai Elantra GT has been spied testing.
With the Korean automaker teasing the next-generation Hyundai Elantra, it was only a matter of time before our spy photographers caught a glimpse of the next-generation Elantra GT. Known as the i30 in other markets, the Elantra GT will receive a styling update similar to what’s found on the standard Elantra. Based on previous teasers and these spy photos, expect the 2017 Hyundai Elantra to get styling changes heavily inspired by the upmarket Genesis sedan, including a large hexagonal front grille and sleek, sporty headlights.
Although it’s not confirmed that the model being spied here is the new Elantra GT, the current model debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and has already received a midcycle refresh, meaning a new-generation model is on the horizon. Combined with the fact that Hyundai is teasing the new Elantra that is expected to bow soon, it makes sense that the model being tested is the new Elantra GT. Expect a wide range of gasoline and diesel engines with turbochargers for the compact hatchback, which will likely debut late next year or in early 2017.
