While the AutoGuide team was busy delivering our industry-leading coverage of the LA Auto Show, we found time to shake hands and deliver plenty of hardware.

Editorial Director Colum Wood hand-delivered the 2016 Reader’s Choice Car of the Year Award to Ford Utility Marketing Manager Craig Patterson for the new Ford Mustang Shelby GT350. The new hard-core sports car beat out some impressive models for the win: the Cadillac ATS-V, Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet Malibu, Chevrolet Volt, Honda Civic, Mazda MX-5 Miata, Nissan Maxima, Scion iM and Toyota Prius.

Patterson was also pleased to accept the Reader’s Choice Utility Vehicle of the Year Award for the new Ford Edge.

Top honors for the Reader’s Choice Truck of the Year went to the new Colorado Diesel, with Chevrolet Truck Marketing Director Sandor Piszar accepting the honors.

That was just the first or two wins for Chevy this year, with Steve Majoros accepting the award for the Reader’s Choice Sports Car of the Year for the Corvette Z06. The Z06 beat out the Audi TT, Cadillac ATS-V, Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang Shelby GT350, Mazda MX-5 Miata, Dodge Viper ACR, Mercedes-AMG GT S and Jaguar F-Type R Coupe.
