Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann will reportedly leave the Italian automaker to join Audi’s Quattro division.

Winkelmann has been at the helm of Lamborghini for the past decade through Volkswagen ownership and previously had experience with Fiat in Austria, Switzerland and Germany. Reports in Italy suggest that Winkelmann will be replaced by Stefano Domenicali, who led Ferrari’s Formula One team between 2007 and 2014. Domenicali is currently employed by the Volkswagen Group, having joined Audi in October 2014.

If Winkelmann does depart Lamborghini to join Audi’s Quattro division, it would mark a return to relatively mainstream products for the current CEO. Audi’s Quattro GmbH division does produce some high-end niche products for today’s market, geared towards enthusiasts looking for more performance.
