Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet Packs Massive V12

The range-topping Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet has been unveiled, boasting 630 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque from its massive V12.

Powered by a 6.0-liter biturbo V12 engine, this is the first time the German automaker has offered the powerplant in a droptop model with seating for four. Mated to an AMG SpeedShift Plus 7G-Tronic transmission, the luxurious convertible goes zero to 62 mph in 4.1 seconds while having an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

From the factory, the Mercecdes-AMG S65 Cabriolet will ride on a staggered set of 20-inch wheels that are 8.5 inches wide in the front and 9.5 inches wide in the rear. Like the other S-Class Cabriolet models, it features a soft top available in black, dark blue, beige and dark red that can be opened and closed at speeds up to 31 mph. Opening and closing of the top takes about 17 seconds.

Standard equipment on the model includes an exclusive package with upholstery in Designo exclusive nappa leather, headliner in nappa leather and Dinamica microfiber, LED Intelligent Light System, 360-degree camera, Active Parking Assist with Parktronic, Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system, Driving Assistance package Plus (Distronic Plus with Steering Assist and Stop&Go Pilot, Pre-Safe Brake, Bas Plus with Cross-Traffic Alert, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist and Pre-Safe Plus), Seat Comfort package for driver and front passenger as well as the Keyless-Go package.

Expect the Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet to arrive dealerships next May with pricing announced closer to its launch.
