Photos of the Kia Optima Sportswagon have leaked ahead of the car’s official debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

First previewed by the Kia Sportspace concept at last year’s Geneva Motor Show, the production model keeps a similar footprint and overall design, although the front end isn’t as aggressive as the concept. Still, the Optima looks quite nice in wagon form. Unfortunately, there’s still no word if it will be offered in the U.S., but it seems unlikely considering how weak wagon sales are stateside.

Although specifications and engine offerings will be revealed early next month when the Kia Optima Sportswagon officially bows in Switzerland, it is expected to offer a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with around 250 horsepower. Also in the works is a plug-in hybrid variant featuring the same hybrid powertrain that recently debuted at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show.

Check back with AutoGuide.com starting March 1, as we will be reporting live from the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. You can bet we will get an up close and personal look at the Kia Optima Sportswagon, especially since we were huge fans of the Sportspace concept that debuted last year.
