The 2017 Nissan Maxima is about $100 more expensive then last year’s model, with a starting MSRP of $33,395.

One of the biggest changes is the addition of Apple CarPlay to every single model, accessed through the standard NissanConnect infotainment system and 8-inch touchscreen. There are also two new appearance packages that offer Maxima buyers more style choices.

The new Medallion Package adds 18-inch wheels, light-up sill plates, a spoiler, interior accent lighting and exterior ground lighting. Customers can also opt for the Dynamic package, which comes with everything found in the Medallion Package save the exterior ground lighting, which is traded in for side rocker moldings. Nissan didn’t announced pricing for these new packages.

Moving up in the range, the Maxima SV sells for $35,375, while the mid-range Maxima SL goes for $37,875. At the top of the lineup are the SR and Platinum models, which are listed at $38,655 and $40,825.

This gives the Maxima nearly the exact same base price as the Toyota Avalon, though the Acura TLX undercuts by roughly $1,000.

Every Maxima model comes with a 300-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine mated to a CVT.
