Tesla is shipping a large piece of mesh out to owners of the Model X crossover to help block the sun.

That’s because the windshield on the Model X is quite large, extending above the driver and front passenger’s heads. While it was marketed as a major design feature, Model X owners have complained of being blinded by sunshine most of the day, saying that the existing sun shades are not large enough.

Tesla’s answer to the complaints is a mesh sun visor that blocks “two thirds of light and heat coming from the upper front windshield,” according to the company. The sunshade, a series of mounting clips and a storage pouch are now being provided to owners free of charge.

When the Model X first launched, the brand said that the large window’s “optimized solar tinting and obstruction-free view creates unlimited visibility for the driver and all passengers.”

Tesla says that installation of the sunshade should take just seconds. The installation manual has been released by Tesla and can be seen here.
