The 2017 Titan and Titan XD will be covered by a 5-year/100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, which is the most comprehensive warranty available in the world of pickup trucks. The Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado and Ram 1500 all come with 3-year/36,000-mile warranties as standard.
The warranty will cover every truck in the Titan lineup, including both two-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations and with both gasoline and diesel engines.
Nissan introduced this same warranty for its lineup of commercial vans back in June of 2014. Since then, sales of the NV200 cargo van are up 17 percent through July, while the entire van lineup has gained a 10 percent sales boost.
The Titan XD is currently only available as a crew cab with either a 5.0-liter diesel V8 or 5.6-liter gas-powered V8 under the hood. The Titan half-ton will also launch as a crew cab model, though single cab models have been revealed and will join the lineup in late 2016. Next year, king cab models will join the lineup.
“TITAN will ultimately be available in a total of three cabs, three bed lengths, three engines, 4×4 and 4×2 drive and S, SV, SL, PRO-4X and Platinum Reserve trim levels – covering about 85 percent of the total light pickup marketplace,” said Fred Diaz, division vice president and general manager.
