Like the Ford Mustang, the Focus RS is getting upgrades from Ford Performance, Autoblog reports.
Although the aftermarket is already embracing the Focus RS and several companies offer goods for the hot hatch, some owners prefer to not void their warranty. That’s where Ford Performance comes in, which recently announced a warranty-approved tuning package for the Mustang that increases the 2.3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder engine’s performance to 335 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. The company also announced a package that enhances V8 performance, increasing horsepower by 37 to a total of 472 hp.
Ford Performance hasn’t confirmed what will be heading to the Focus RS or what kind of upgrades it will get, but considering the AWD hatch comes standard with 350 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque, it has a solid foundation to start with. The Ford Focus RS already offers more performance than the upgraded Mustang EcoBoost, so it will be interesting to see what additional performance can be squeezed out by Ford Performance.
