2017 Volkswagen E-Golf Video, First Look
Volkswagen has given its e-Golf an update in time for the 2016 L.A. Auto Show.
The Volkswagen e-Golf gets updated styling, though the change is subtle. More importantly, the e-Golf gets a bigger battery and an improved motor. The result is about 50 percent more range, allowing the 2017 Volkswagen e-Golf to travel up to 124 miles on a single charge. Power jumps from 115 horsepower to 134 ponies, while torque gets a small boost by 15 pound-feet to 214. As a result, the updated e-Golf accelerates to 60 mph from a standstill a full second faster than the outgoing model, stopping the clock at 9.6 seconds.
The updated electric car also benefits from Volkswagen’s Digital Cockpit, which replaces conventional dials in the dash with a 12.3-inch screen. The center console also gets a new screen available as an option, a 9.2-inch unit that will have gesture controls within the next two years.
Look for the 2017 Volkswagen e-Golf to go on sale in the second quarter of 2017.
