Ford is bringing its smallest SUV model to the U.S.
It’s called the Ford EcoSport and it has actually been offered in world markets since 2003, and now it will be heading to U.S. dealerships by early 2018. When it arrives, buyers can choose from either a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder EcoBoost engine or a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter mill. With the larger engine, all-wheel drive will be standard and both engines will be paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.
A total of four trim levels will be made available: S, SE, SES and Titanium. The top-of-the-line EcoSport Titanium features an upgraded audio system, while the SES trim boasts a sport-tuned suspension and unique styling elements.
The compact SUV will be built in Chennai, India and imported to the U.S.
