Here's What Nissan's CEO Will Do Before Trump Tweets At Him

Renault and Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn believes automakers will have to adjust how they do business under Donald Trump’s presidency.

CNNMoney‘s Richard Quest spoke to Ghosn briefly about President-elect Donald Trump and his recent attacks at certain automakers looking to manufacture in Mexico.

Nissan hasn’t been targeted by Trump on social media yet, and the company even went on the offensive by releasing statistics of how it has invested in the U.S. over the last few years. But unlike Ford, who decided to cancel its plans in Mexico and reinvest in the U.S., Nissan will wait until the new administration is in place to see how the dominoes fall before making any decisions on whether it will boost production in the U.S.

Ghosn however does believe that every automaker in the U.S. will increase capacities in the country as a result of the Trump administration. He acknowledges the message from Trump is clear: the U.S. comes first.
