New BMW 5 Series Models Get Priced
The new BMW 5 Series models made their public debut at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show.
The world premiere of the BMW 530e iPerformance and M550i xDrive at the North American International Auto Show also included an official announcement on pricing for the luxury sedans. The 2018 BMW 530e iPerformance will start from $52,395 including destination while shoppers can opt for the xDrive all-wheel-drive model for $2,300 additional. The plug-in hybrid 5 Series model pairs an eDrive electric motor with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine for a total system output of 248 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, allowing it to go zero-to-60 in six seconds flat. The xDrive version does the sprint slightly faster at 5.8 seconds.

The new high-performance BMW M550i xDrive is the fastest 5 Series yet and has a starting price of $73,095. It’s the first M Performance model to be powered by a specifically modified M Performance TwinPower Turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine offering 456 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. As a result, the M550i xDrive shoots to 60 mph from a standstill in 3.9 seconds while having an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.
