Toyota is set to offer a fresh version of its popular RAV4 compact crossover. The new Adventure trim was just revealed at the Chicago Auto Show.
Called the RAV4 Adventure in the US, and the RAV4 Trail in Canada, this new trim model will be available for model year 2018 and is ready for action. Dressed for the great outdoors, it features larger fender flares, an elevated ride height and a standard trailer-prep package, which includes an upgraded radiator as well as engine-oil and transmission-fluid coolers.
Helping the RAV4 Adventure tow with confidence is trailer sway control and hill-start assist. Toyota Safety Sense-P, the firm’s suite of advanced driver-assistance technologies, is standard, too. This brings lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control and more goodies to the table.

As for mechanicals, front-wheel drive with a limited-slip differential is standard, but if you need more grip, four-corner traction is available for extra money.
Dressing things up are standard 18-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels. Lower body guards along with the headlight bezels, fog-lamp surrounds and roof-rack components are trimmed in black. Five exterior colors are available.
Inside, the RAV4 Adventure benefits from unique furnishings including a leather-wrapped shift knob and special door-sill trim. All-weather floormats are also included so you don’t completely muck things up when you’re out, you know, adventuring.
One potentially popular option on this ready-for-almost-anything model is a cold-weather package, which includes a heated steering wheel and heated front seats along with a windshield-wiper deicer. You can look for the RAV4 Adventure at Toyota dealerships in September.
