This French Crossover Could Be Heading to the US
Making its official debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, this is the Citroen DS 7 Crossback.
Citroen has ambitions of entering the U.S. market with its DS luxury sub-brand, and an attractive crossover would be an ideal model to start. Under the hood is a plug-in hybrid powertrain featuring a 200-horsepower gasoline engine and a pair of electric motors, one at the front and one at the rear. Combined, total system output is 300 hp, with the powertrain mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The Citroen DS 7 Crossback can travel in all-electric mode for up to 37 miles and other operating modes include Hybrid for long journeys without charging, Combined for a sportier driving experience, and 4×4 for going off the beaten path.

It also has semi-autonomous features with DSC Connected Pilot, which adjusts vehicle speed by watching the vehicle ahead. It also steers the vehicle to keep it in the lane, respecting the driver’s choices and habits. According to DS, Connected Pilot can be active at speeds up to 112 mph (180 km/h), but is particularly useful in traffic jams. Another semi-autonomous feature is DS Park Pilot, which is able to identify a parking space corresponding to the dimensions of the crossover, simply by driving past spaces at a speed of up to 18 mph (30 km/h). The driver can then use the touchscreen interface to show how they wish to park.
For added comfort, the DS 7 Crossback has DS Active Scan Suspension, a system that uses a camera to identify and anticipate any bumps and dips in the road for continuous control of the shock absorbers.
Inside the cabin there is a pair of 12-inch screens for the navigation system and the French automaker teamed up with audio manufacturer Focal for a 14-speaker stereo system.
