Hyundai’s new crossover will make its official debut June 12, although these teaser images essentially give it all away.
Hyundai has released new teasers for the Kona, and according to the Korean automaker, the Kona “continues Hyundai’s new design identity, and offers a progressive character and latest technologies to create a unique proposition in the sub-compact SUV segment.” The front end is bold and features slim headlights, similar to what can be found on the Jeep Cherokee. There is, of course, Hyundai’s Cascading Grille that identifies all its newest models.
The Kona will also be Hyundai’s first model to have a head-up display that will project key driving information directly into the driver’s line of sight. It will be an eight-inch projected image with a class-leading luminance of 10,000 candela per square meter, guaranteeing daytime visibility while keeping drivers safe.
Kia will have a similar compact crossover joining its lineup, called the Stonic. But look for Kia’s version to have a more conventional design with less premium features.
