Formula E cars aren’t fast enough and don’t have enough range to race on the fast, open tracks that Formula 1 does.
For this reason, Formula E is relegated to tight, winding street circuits. Due to the nature of the circuits and the fact it’s a spec series, drivers are forced to be extra aggressive if they hope to complete any passes. This, of course, results in crashes. Lots of them.
If you don’t follow the series, you should know that Formula E is great with fans and frequently uploads race highlights and footage to their YouTube channel. They recently put together a compilation of all the major crashes from this year’s racing season, which as you can probably imagine, ended up being pretty long.
The third ever Formula E season ended with the Montreal ePrix late last month. Lucas di Grassi won the driver’s championship while reigning series champ Sebastien Buemi finished second and rookie Felix Rosenqvist was third. The fourth Formula E season will kick off in early December with the Hong Kong ePrix on December 2nd. For now, though, you can watch the competitors crash into walls and each other for nearly six-minutes straight in the video above.
