The Hennessey Venom F5 may finally be unveiled with a special announcement.

The company began teasing the new Venom F5 earlier this year, promising it would “take direct aim at the new Bugatti Chiron for world’s fastest production series super sports car.” There isn’t much we know about the Venom F5, but its name comes from the Fujita scale, which measures the wind speeds of tornadoes. An F5 tornado has wind speeds between 261 mph (420 km/h) and 318 mph (511 km/h).

The teaser image suggests Hennessey managed to break the 300-mph mark, or it has come really close. We can expect it to be faster than the Venom GT, which hit a top speed over 270 mph.

But the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport holds the official Guinness World Record at 268 mph, which was the average of two runs in different directions. But it will be more interesting to see if Hennessey is able to keep up with the Chiron.
