Porsche Going After Audi for Dieselgate Damages: Report

Porsche is asking Audi to cover damages over the diesel scandal, according to a recent report.

Reuters, citing German newspaper Bild, reports that Porsche is seeking 200-million euros ($234-million) in damages from Audi to cover the costs related to manipulated diesel engines. This sounds a bit strange considering both Porsche and Audi are part of the Volkswagen Group, but Audi has admitted to fitting an illegal auxiliary device to its 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine that is used on various Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche models.

The Porsche Cayenne is one of those models equipped with Audi’s V6 diesel, and Porsche was forced to recall the SUV for repairs. Porsche is asking Audi for compensation to cover the costs of the retrofits, legal counseling, and customers measures, says Bild.

So next time you’re sitting around the family table at Thanksgiving and something really awkward comes up for conversation, imagine having to ask your sibling for $234-million.

yup, Porsche and AUDI are not BFF. AUDI's engines, platforms, and legendary Quattro are just too inferior for Zuffenhausen (actually Weissach where the Development Center is located) the intra-family sibling rivalry has Bentley siding with Porsche and Lambo siding with AUDI
