2018 Hyundai Tucson Arrives at Dealerships With Updated Tech
Last month, the Hyundai Tucson experienced its best-ever sales month in company history.
The Korean automaker is looking to build off that success with the 2018 model, which improves in several areas. Although the SE trim continues on as the base model, the SE Popular Equipment package has now become the SEL trim, and includes the addition of a seven-inch audio display system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Building off the new SEL nomenclature, the SE Plus model has been renamed to SEL Plus, while the Eco and Night trims have been discontinued. Both the Value and Limited trims will remain in the lineup and have feature enhancements by model.
The seven-inch color touchscreen Hyundai Display Audio system is also standard on the Value trim, while the SEL Plus and Limited models now offer three-year complimentary Blue Link Connected Care, Remote Services & Guidance. The Guidance Package includes free map and multimedia system updates.

Included on Limited trim models is a heated steering wheel, and SEL trim and above buyers now get heated front seats. The auto-dimming inside rearview mirror with HomeLink is now available starting with Value trim. Lastly, SiriusXM Radio and HD Radio are now available starting with the SEL trim.
Hyundai also announced one minor update for the 2018 model year, with YES Essentials fabric seats included with Gray and Beige cloth interiors.
The 2018 Hyundai Tucson is available with two fuel efficient engine options, with the SE, SEL, and Plus models featuring a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 164 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. A more powerful 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that offers 175 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque paired to a seven-speed EcoShift dual clutch transmission can be found on the Value, Limited, or Limited with ultimate models.
No pricing changes were announced for the 2018 Hyundai Tucson.
